There is a phrase, "you won't," that is used among several of my friends. What the phrase really means is "I dare you." I don't know all the details of how this phrase came into existence among these friends and all the history that comes with it. But I do know this: I have finally figured out what the phrase truly means and was told that "I won't" make a blog about all the times I do those things I am dared to (or told "I won't") do.
I also told this friend who told me "I won't" make this blog that "he won't" be a co-writer. Therefore, he is a co-writer of this blog.
Here's the deal: I will do all the "you won'ts" thrown my way -- so long as they do not put me in harm's way, go against my rather stringent moral convictions, put my career in jeopardy, or make me look outrageously stupid. I think that's a fair deal. So if you're reading this blog, which you probably aren't if you read the title... or maybe my cleverness tricked you into reading this... feel free to comment with another "you won't."
And here's the challenge to Derek, the person who "won't" be a co-writer: You must do the same.
As much as this blog is a description of this social experiment, it is also the first test of it. And I did it. First "you won't" is down in the books. Boom.
Oh, and by the way, unbenounced to you, you also took part in this social experiment. How, you wonder? I told you that "you won't," or dared you, to read this. And you did.
